The Jadran City Choir was founded under the auspices of the Tivat Cultural Center in early 2024, at the initiative of Director Goran Božović and in agreement with Professor Andrea Orlando Tripović. This mixed choir continues the long tradition of choral singing in Tivat, which – with occasional interruptions – has spanned nearly a century. The name Jadran was chosen in honor of the former city choir of the same name, which ceased its activities about twenty years ago. The choir’s first official concert took place at the closing of the inaugural Tivat Music Festival in 2024. This was followed by additional performances, including a full-length New Year’s concert at the end of the same year, during which the choir performed alongside the renowned Croatian singer Radojka Šverko. Thanks to the dedicated leadership of Prof. Andrea Orlando Tripović, the unwavering support of the Tivat Cultural Center, and a carefully curated repertoire, the choir has quickly achieved an impressive level of performance quality. Today, it has around fifty members and continues to grow steadily.

Artists

Andrea Orlando Tripović, pianist and music educator, developed a career that combines performance and pedagogy after earning her degree in Piano from the Music Academy in Croatia. As a longtime professor at the Vida Matjan Primary and Secondary Music School in Kotor, she has shaped the musical journeys of numerous young talents, whose exceptional achievements at national and international competitions stand as a testament to her teaching. Alongside her educational work, she has served as Conductor of the Cathedral Choir of St. Tryphon and led several renowned vocal ensembles and choirs in the region, including the Jadran klapa from Tivat. In early 2024, she took on the role of Artistic Director of the newly re-established Jadran City Choir, under the auspices of the Tivat Cultural Center. Under her direction, the choir continues the nearly century-long tradition that began in 1925. She contributes significantly to the cultural life of the region through her involvement with the KotorArt Festival, as well as in her role as Director of the Tivat Music Festival Foundation. With great enthusiasm and expertise, Andrea Orlando Tripović is dedicated to preserving and advancing the musical heritage of the Bay of Kotor.
